off point a little - I saw a bloke who was in a group interview on ????????? I think it might have been Fr 24 - but, it might have been on some other channel
back about a week - he was American I think - a rough looking kind of bloke, but, by the way he spoke he sounded like he really had studied politics - not just american politics but politics in general and loads of history
he said something which it home to me - after seeing what I'm seeing here and in America and in Oz, UK etc - and it also tied in with what I saw in the Museum of Immigration in Paris - which documents migration waves to France and the politics - I've said it's well worth two visits - walk the walls and do an overall read - go away for days or weeks and go back
anyway - basically he was saying that when there is change and if people aren't happy for several reasons ----
we swing right -------- we always swing right.
Why - well, he didn't say. But, what IMO happens is that right - always looks like it promises order.
They promise to bring order from what appears to be disorder - that disorder might be from change or other discomfort - but, a promise of order - would fix it.
So the right - try to appear to epitomise order - they come with the haircut, they come with the suit, they come with this right wing uniform - classic righty look - short neat hair, cut suit, (look at Jordon Bardella (pics below) - perfect right wing costume and look)
talking about putting everything right by simple solutions - all in boxes - get rid of immigrants, cut taxes, lower costs - everything in a box - order returned.
And, in times when things didn't change all that quickly - it can work - for a while. It stifles progress, but, it can bring a return to what appears to be order.
Nowadays - there's a huge problem ------------ it doesn't work. The reason -
the reason is because one cannot bring order into a set of conditions that are changing rapidly - really rapidly
you cannot pick things up and put them in a neat little box - and get the box to stay in that corner and all the other little boxes to stay in their corners or rows.
It's like holding down a beachball under the water with a finger -------- it works fine, when the finger is dead still and the water is dead still
but, if the water is moving - changing - then, the beachball breaks loose and pops up
so, the finger has to move fast - hold the ball down again - force it down - and it gets more and more dynamic as the water changes faster
and that's what we see today - basically a cascade of interventions with fingers trying to whack beachballs into 'our way' --
the more trouble we have - the more we move to the right - and the more we swing wildly -
interesting times
the perfect example - for the promise of order -------
