We host overseas uni students in a purpose-built annex to our Canberra home. A new semester is beginning and new and returning (mostly Asian) students are flooding in from the north. Wu Tun arrived at our home today. He takes us to full capacity (five students) and said on arrival:
On his plane from China to Sydney, all but one passenger was a Chinese uni student. We ignore Asia and China in particular at our economic peril. In honour of our new arrival, Maureen will dish up a traditional Aussie meal to five students, me and our son who just popped in (as sons do) at dinner-time, when eight T-bone Steaks plus spuds and veges were being cooked:
