Perhaps my emphasis should have been on deflationary aspects now - such as housing which has a major effect.

Economies will suffer in deflationary times.
QE will lead to inflationary pressure which will feed into the system and be good for the price of silver.
And yes when QE is announced there is a surge in price of gold and silver anticipating the inflationary pressure.

How significant the parcels of QE are in relation to overall finances is an important factor.
