Okay, so maybe new hearts and limbs etc are not cropping up like we thought they might. But are we missing something more subtle but nonetheless important, maybe even revolutionary?

"Perhaps their (mesenchymal stem cells) most important attribute is their ability to alter the ratio of pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines and molecules,in favour of the latter, in a variety of pathways."

Would welcome discussion on the above. I don't have a science background but am currently reading papers and trying learning more.
