Former Austar Chief executive John Porter to now be Photons Chairman.

I like the following comments:

“The future will spring bright,” he told The Australian Financial Review. “I’m definitely looking forward to a bit of a break from the television business and I think these are the kinds of businesses that can double, triple, quadruple in size over the next few years.

“We have a blank sheet of paper. We have nothing but opportunity in terms of building our brands, building our credibility and we can reinvent the company.

“I’m looking for businesses that I find challenging, have an opportunity to grow and are intellectually stimulating and I certainly think I found that with this company.”

In addition he is quoted as saying to The Australian that he intends to buy shares in the company.

A strategic review findings will be released next month.
