Couldn't agree with you more. John Brumby is chucking quite a bit of cash around down here for renewables ( although we do have an election soon ) .
As for the 50-100 years bit , if only the voters demanded it , it would happen . Don't get me started on voters....
Re the long term electricity future , I may have posted it before on here but have a look at beyondzeroemissions.org . There are a few flaws in there plan imo but geez it's a good start. Combined with our surplus gas I don't know why it isn't item number one on Julia's new Climate Change Committee.
