@poyndexter; ever since the scorched earth Kennett Years Victorians have been only too happy to pay an extra 10% to transform the state into one of the World's most dynamic and most productive economic power houses.

We've done it without any support at all from Canberra and indeed with those in Canberra actually depriving Victorians of their fair suck of the sauce bottle and even knee-capping our efforts to become more innovative, more technological, less dependent on Old King Coal and even drought-proofed.

It's easy to mount a case for South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania to unite as a single jurisdiction and to secede from the Australian Federation - we've no need of wasteful spending on warmongering, we're already on track to be fully renewables-powered, we've a very modern economy bristling with new gen biotechs / education / research / sports and entertainment and unlike NSW and Qld we haven't 'soiled the nest'.
