My guesses on where CVN may be looking is in order of possibility; Myanmar (Burma), Laos and Cambodia. Reason, they all possibly have the same sort of fractured volcanic oil plays as they are finding in Thailand and hopefully they are not looking at Vietnam as this tends to be a bit of a money pit.

There is definitely oil/gas offshore in Myanmar and Cambodia and of course Laos has no coastline.

The play up near Onslow to me is low possibilty as that area has been pretty well picked over and misses outnumber successes.

Offshore exploration for Angola is deep water, big money and big risk. Also proven province so the majors are pushing hard to get all the leases they possibly can.

Thinking outside the box may be onshore for the volcanics in the areas around where they already have production. Also no competition from the majors.

Aa an aside in todays Sunday Times (Perth) they are showing CVN as a Spec Buy by Hartleys.
