LoveCCE ,I think what your overlooking is why Alcoa offered to become a partner in the Warro gas field.Their bottom line is substantially damaged if the West Aust gas pipeline is either damaged or supply cut off like what happened last year.Financially they can't risk not developing this field if commercial(which we all believe it is).Any disruption to gas supply seriously disrupts their alumina production and even with the global crisis I believe they would not want ot be totally at the mercy of Nor-west gas supply,when they could have control of their own supply,almost no-brainer..
