It is useful to highlight a couple of things again in this more reliable report.

First: it quotes JK and not some unknown
Second : JK is pretty emphatic ...."A report today in La Razon, a La Paz newspaper, saying that the company had abandoned the deposit, is false, Kelly said."
Third : it acknowledges something that had been seen as an issue right from the beginning of the project ... local fears about the project's impact.
Fourth : it points out what has been going on to address that ..." Company and government officials are holding talks and workshops with local communities in a bid to overcome fears about the project’s environmental consequences, he said. "
Fifthly : it notes the strong backing the company has ....
" Kelly said. “We also have firm government backing for the project.” "


So it is very much business as usual. A minor blip(or slip) on the radar.(if you will excuse the pun)
