News artical of the net This can only be good for Sundance by increasing the price of oil in the Mid West.

    Release date: 19 November 1998
HOUSTON -- Seaway Pipeline Company, a joint venture between subsidiaries of ARCO (NYSE: ARC) and Phillips Petroleum Company (NYSE: P), has completed the conversion and is currently pumping refined products through its 20-inch pipeline system between Houston and Cushing, OK.
The 20-inch Seaway pipeline, which previously transported crude oil, was converted and cleaned in late April and began initial transportation of refined products in early May. The Seaway system, which ties into a Phillips 18-inch products line which runs from Cushing to Wichita, KS, gives shippers access to Denver via Chase Pipeline, the Williams Pipeline system, Sinclair's terminal at Shawnee, Oklahoma and Phillips' truck terminals at Wichita, KS, Kansas City and Jefferson City, MO.

Seaway, Phillips and Kaneb Pipelines also have a joint tariff, which enables a shipper to move products from Houston to any destination on the Kaneb Pipeline system that stretches from Kansas to North Dakota.

The Seaway and Phillips pipeline system has a current capacity of 90,000 bpd of refined products. The companies are currently studying the possibility of expanding the capacity to approximately 130,000 barrels per day.

"We are delighted that the cleaning and conversion activities went so well and that Seaway Pipeline Company can now offer this additional transportation service into the mid-continent," said Larry Shakley, president of ARCO Pipe Line Company, operator of Seaway.

Seaway also includes a 30-inch line transporting crude oil from Houston to Cushing, which set a throughput record exceeding 225,000 bpd in October. Seaway also includes a waterborne terminal at Texas City, which handles imported crude oil destined for refineries in Texas City and the Houston area.
