Don't know where you are from mate but SA economy is massively reliant on the future mining activity that is gonna take place over here. What else does SA have? How else is it going to find economic growth? have u been to Perth and seen the impact mining has had on that state? Rann must be frothing at the mouth! He has gone from anti uranium mining to its greatest supporter after he found out how much the state has of this stuff. If u think small minority groups with their own interests are gonna sway the govt from walking away from this project you are mistaken. all i have seen in the latest 'bags in ground' affair is a warning for MTN to clean up their act. So, once they clean up the bags and show that they are meeting the strong environmental conditions that the govt will impose on them then there will be no more cause for concern except from the Spriggs, Parnell, greenies, wild goats and you. These minority groups will not have the swaying power to stop a multi billion dollar project from going ahead.
