The first person to die (officially that is) had it for approximately 21 or 22 days (so the story goes) commencing sometime around the 19th our 20th Dec.

So if it takes three weeks to effect a kill (or more) then we aren’t really going to know what the mortality rate is for a couple to three weeks from now because there has only in the last day been approximately 1,000 reported cases (a reasonable sample size for a statistical assessment).

Probably can’t say one way or the other on whether it’s out of control........... mind you that could change very quickly.

The shutdown seems a bit late as it would appear the horse had bolted before the Chinese Government acted on internal border controls.
