I tend to agree with you.

Despite contrary comments about Bernanke I think he is doing a great job.

Once he realised the gravity of the situation Bernanke has acted swiftly and with great strength to limit the potential fallout of the subprimes. He cannot stop all of the damage but the actions taken have prevented a melt down of the financial markets and will prevent the U.S from going into a deep recession. Many posters here have called Bernanke an idiot and a panic merchant but I believed Bernanke all of the right things and that will be acknowledged in time.

There will no or little growth in the U.S economy this year until at least the last quarter of the year. But you are right there is a lot of speculative money around and the markets will be volatile for some time yet.
