Who among you like a punt? what is the bet that the rent resource tax doesn't get up, or at least get up in the form it is in? but jst say even if it did get up? I don't believe it will effect Lihir because the majority of it's interests are not in Australia, that together with the fact that NCM appear to be better mine manager operators all up, and the fact that NCM already has mining interests in PNG which would make any takeover of LHG a fairly simple process and one that makes total sense, I recon NCM will be heading north in the not to distant future!with or without the new tax!
