Heremes - fair point and my apologies to hotdog - I was not criticising him / her per se. In fact I found his/her info to be worth the look at the thread.
I take my hat off to his/her research but feel that we are indeed on new ground with an unprecedented effort by all major governments to prevent a repeat of the 1929 scenario, coupled with the very real profitability of most established commodity entities.
The simple thuth is that there is no precedent for the current situation and whilst I'm not saying history is irrelevant, I'm not ready to join "the end of the world is nigh" club just yet - the growth machine grinds on.
