The brain is extremely good at filling in gaps in your vision, there are no receptors where the optic nerve leaves the eyeball but we never see a hole in our vision even if one eye is blocked. The brain can even fill in damaged areas from arc welding flash or disease BUT I do not believe that it has filled in all the colours in the pic above. I would need to see the same pic with different coloured grids on the shirts or some left without grids before I was convinced.
