LOL, thanks, just trying to help out (although it's a good buy anyway - I am only 'hold' as over-weight already).
So I had a quick look (should have done that first, thought someone else might know) and it appears Vanguard does run actively managed funds (but Index Funds still ~three-quarters of their FUM). Ref: https://investor.vanguard.com/index-funds/index-vs-active
However, I noticed most of the net buys on the Substantial Holder notice were Vanguard Australia. VA is almost all index funds, so (opinion only) my guess is still that it was likely/mostly rebalancing got Vanguard over 5%...
