    The Constitution does not prohibit individuals not aligned to political parties standing for election.

    The government of this country will be in serious trouble if all elected parliamentarians are "independents", each of their own political agenda. Any coalition formed by some of the independents to form government will not be stable.

    I have no doubt that, in normal circumstance, we will never have a parliament filled 100% by independents. I am confident of that.

    The people ultimately are free to remove those who purportedly represent them but are not working for their interests.
