DJIA is a price weighted average of 30 stocks. All Ords is a market cap weighted average 500 stocks.
The 2 are not comparable.
Google "price weighted index" to see what a ridiculously lousy way of putting together an index it is. Never use the DOW, use the S&P 500 are a comparison.
More than 40% of our market is financials. If the world financial system is fracked blind freddy can see our market is going to struggle. I can't see how Europe falling over is Swan's fault.
