Welcome news, except that EMS is currently the only profitable part of the business. Once upon a time, Defence was profitable. Hopefully it can be again, but they haven't really been kicking defence goals since the great pandemic of 2020. Their counter-drone solutions have soaked up enormous amounts of R&D expenditure without gaining traction in the marketplace. And the RWS technology is now a decade old.
Selling the money-earner is going to free up capital, but it throws the future of the company entirely onto management's ability to convert that into a commercial operation.
From my perspective, this is a risk-on move.
