Peaks always had low liquidity, which cuts both ways unfortunately, hence why large volume swings back and forth contribute to large price movements.
as mentioned for most other than those that partook in the raising are selling at Heavey losses, like most cap raises though prices almost always undershoot raise price at some stage, this usually from the broker unloading shares they had underwritten, add in uncertainty to the FID , the past US market bearish moves , and it's a perfect opportunity for long term holders to pick up shares , especially this close to derisking .
in fact I have pulled up price and volume charts before showing how "caps raising shares for mates" was rubbish as most times the cap raises have burnt the participants.
making wild statements like chicken little about shenghe pulling the pin and a leak is as valid as saying the price is being manipulated down for cheaper shares ( which there has been persecutions by ASIC in this behaviour) due to peaks lack of liquidity.
shegnhe have spent directly over 80 million To date plus what they paid for thier shares, so they are pretty invested at this stage in the project, and also in Tanzania in general to be upsetting Tanzania government, especially when peak has contributed a fair amount of community support projects
Let's instead of thinking on emotions be grown ups and wait for the announcements good or bad.
the retirement of the non exec can be viewed two ways good or bad but my view is 1. As 2. Is self evident why unlikely.
1. Risk not required services anymore = good .
or
2. He wasn't on the ball and it's blown up regarding shenghe which case a follow up announcements would be forthcoming as it's related to continuing disclosure rules.
