The EU is also at fault in this crisis. They thought that bailouts and austerity would work. Well it doesn't and they don't seem to understand that.
They piled more debt onto existing debt and onto a nation that had no hope of ever paying it back.
To me the EU itself is equally at fault as the Greeks. They knew the Greek economy had no way of growing itself out of this situation. Austerity simply contracted the economy further.
Now we will see what happens. They are taking a big risk if they let Greece go, alot of uncertainty to come which markets hate.
