It is possibly fake news but the mere fact that he hasn't been seen in public for some time is suspicious to say the least.
He is someone who likes to be in the limelight and appears in the local newspapers virtually every day.
He may be very ill and of course with no news the rumours will start until 'he' appears to quash them, my experience with Africa is constant denial without proof is normally not a good sign.
The VP would step into his position should he be incapacitated or has past but this would take some time.
Time will tell I guess, just another delay for the SML I'm afraid.
