Just a reality check for all.

Right now, there are 443 commercial reactors operating in 30 countries, 104 in usa, 58 france, 54 japan, 17 germany and 13 china. Apart from germany, no other countries even including jp shut down their reactors.

In the wake of jp crisis,China has not stopped construction of its 26 new reactors being built. China only stopped processing more than 40 proposals to be yet started, so the new proposals have time to address the new risks.

Thursday this week, the former head of China energy bureau gave an interview to media, which clearly showed that China will continue to press on onto nuclear path.

Technological developments of humans follow the "path-dependence", it means technology will evolve and become better from mistakes, not deserted because of mistakes. For nuclear, the 2+ and 3 generation is more safe than the 2 generation reactors used in fujishima. The 4 generation(fast neutron reactor) will become widely used in 20 years.

As to thorium, i haven't heard any countries has built a single research reactor, in contrary, there are 250 research reactors in 50 countries using u-235. Thorium technology has to prove itself in real world, not only on papers in schools.
