Long service honoured
IT IS quite rare these days to see
employees last 20 years at the same
company, let alone the same mine
site.
The Paddington Gold Mine, just
north of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, began
operations in 1985, five years later
Rusty Browning started with the
company.
Twenty years on he is the maintenance
superintendent and still going
strong. Mr Browning was honoured
at a special dinner to recognise the
long service of several Paddington
workers.
Norton Gold Fields chief executive
Mark McCaulay came to town
for the occasion which was celebrated
at the Palace Hotel with Paddington
general manager Terry Moylan.
Along with Mr Browning, day
shift process technicians Wayne
Webb and John Gittings were recognised
for 15 and 10 years' service respectively.
Process shift supervisors Don
Donker and Rob Hunt were also
thanked for 10 years of service.
A Paddington spokesperson said
the evening was "beautiful" and very
well received by the employees and
their partners.
