"I also heard this earlier today along with a lengthy interview with a Perth journalist who has been investigating the possibility that this could be Robert Thompson as many in the WA corrective services believe. This journo was initially convinced it wasn't him but is now having 2nd thoughts. There are some similarities in appearance including "one very striking feature" (unspecified what it was). The difference year of birth might be a red herring in the identity cover-up but interestingly both Arthurs & Thompson have the same birth date according to this report.

It's also worth noting that the charges against Arthurs on the previous assault on a neighbour who was also only 8 years old were dropped due to some flaw in the interview process so Arthurs has a clean record.

btw, if you are from WA you are now allowed to read this & even the internet simulcast of the radio broadcast in Sydney had to be suppressed in case it might prejudice potential jurors in WA"
