a person has to recognise that the car is heading the wrong way
without that recognition - then, no action is either contemplated or taken.
And what happens when one misses the early signs - is that one gets a nation that has problems like America has with murdering senselessly it's own children in mass school shootings
the signs were there for years - yet conservative boneheaded fools just refused to see them.
And, now - now they KNOW they have a problem - their options to fix it are ------ 'more guns'
there's stupid and special kinds of stupid --- if Aussies don't see the current crop of problems and issues arising as clusters of signs that the society is in trouble --------------- really basic stuff - like housing, food, power, poverty divide, poor health, abuses in multiple areas of the society -
if people can't see patterns there - then, no one will consider coordinated actions - let alone executing actions
Australia is like a plane that's going down - - people can sense the angle the plane is at, they can sense the accelerating as they go south, they can hear the airframe vibrating and shaking, they see smoke coming from at least one engine, they hear the pilot yelling and slamming the cockpit door shut, they see the hostesses scurrying to sit down and belt up
but, - the passengers just aren't taking it all as a cluster of happenings - they aren't tying in the obvious - the obvious is - that the plane is in deep shit
but, here we have passengers saying - oh, it's only one engine - we've got 4, we can easily fly on 3 - it's been done many times before
yeah right ---------------- there's stupid and then, there's particular kind of stupid
