Brilliant experiment. Sounds like those kids' passion was the "burr in the saddle" that gave them the drive to succeed.
One's family background is so important in understanding generational poverty. Lazy parents with bad habits or bad attitude on the wrong side of the tracks is a terrible environment to be brought up in. What can be done about that?
