Sitting here a million miles from any seat of power I can but guess on the strategy but this does bring the war closer to Moscow and St. Petersburg. It is conscripts from Russia's heart being killed and captured now, NOT minorities and prisoners. These casualties are the sons of the cities whose families thought they had them, cold, but out of harm's way. No way could Poots do a general conscription now.
