The other nagging issue I am struggling with at the moment is there genuinely seems to be a tipping point for affordable electric vehicles and renewable energy approaching. I think possibly in 2018 and probably no later than 2020.

VW, BMW and Daimler have agreed on a unified charging standard that would charge a vehicle in about 15 min.

Tesla is driving hard towards the Model 3 in 2018.

Sure Cuba will always need oil but they also need new cars - what if the electric vehicle revolution arrives before the upgrade of their vehicles starts to really pick up? The population might go straight from clapped out (yet amazing vintage US) old petrol cars to new electric cars.

Add to that renewable energy is now as cheap as coal (wind and solar pretty much at parity) to deploy and solar is looking to drop even further in the coming years. GE is also saying you don't need spinning generators (big turbines) to control the grid frequency anymore.

Melbana doesn't have a lot of time to get their assets producing.

Food for thought, grist for the mill, I welcome comments.
