No, I don't think we are missing out on anything in my honest opinion.
nuclear plants implements clean and efficient energy but also in an invest of war they are also a target and a direct hit with a Scalp, JDAM, or any type of missile fired from a fighter jet has the capacity to wipe out an entire city. It is a stationary bomb, also in the current environment of terrorism I think nuclear plants is really a no-no.
There are many other alternatives out there; nuclear energy is merely the easy way out. It seems our creativity levels as humans is fading away at the rate of knots.
