I reckon there at least two possible reasons for the Trading Halt:

1) Given they are ahead of the drill schedule having committed to release the rig a month earlier, it means they have been experiencing a 'free fall' of the drill head as it encounters deep columns of oil/gas or very porous rock. The good news would now be too difficult to contain and this weeks movements on CNE shares would be too revealing, so the TH became necessary and a formal communication as per ASX rules.

2) Alternatively, many companies are issuing Annual FY reports so FAR may be preparing to issue it, in which case there would not be any more detail than what has been provided by CNE so far.
