Despite what some have posted I didn't make it up, nor did I post it for sympathy or to big note myself.
My point is that payg taxpayers are being fleeced alive.
Put aside your petty jealousy or bias and explain to me why someone's personal effort is taxed so highly?
Tax interest, tax dividends, tax capital gains, tax consumption, tax luxury goodsand grog, whatever. Go for it. That's income that didn't require anyone to give up their own time.
But when someone exchanges something that is priceless (their own time) to earn a reward, I see no reason or justification for the government taking so much of that person's effort.
It's unjust and unfair.
I'm currently not a resident for income tax purposes but I do have to pay tax in Australia on my earnings (like in this instance) and on my other investments in Australia.
But this is why I've gone overseas. The tax regime in Australia for personal effort is way too high and I'm fortunate that my skills are in demand in other countries.
So I make no apology for taking the opportunity to to earn and keep more money for myself from my own efforts.
The Australian government at the federal, state and local level is sucking people dry. It doesn't spend the money it rakes in wisely or prudently so I don't see why I should give them any more than I have to.
If people think that's wrong I'm sorry but it's my decision to make.
