    The chart showing Russia's accumulation of gold is worth keeping in mind when you consider that the US is attempting to impose sanctions on Russia. For the Russian wealthy elite, gold is one way for them to protect themselves against US financial sanctions ... expect further buying from Russia.

    Also for anyone wanting some sensible commentary on the Russian/US confrontation this video is useful
