If you back a rat into a corner it will fight. In a testosterone fuelled, alcohol and party drug scene it is asking to have your teeth knocked out if you keep pushing some addled brained male relentlessly. With nowhere to go he went forward. His actions were very, very wrong, yes.

I have never been violent to a woman in my life but I did have one do exactly the same thing, screeching into my face and hitting me and I backed up and backed up until I came within an inch of smashing her face and I had not been drinking. You can no longer think straight when you're right on the edge of a moment like this, with everybody watching you. It's easy to sum this up in the cold light of day and cast blame around. Everybody knows what the consequences can be to antagonise somebody who's been drinking. She may have been drunk as well.

Hope she recovers and both have learnt more about their limitations.
