In the big picture of the large bulk of moslems in Australia, Tony Abbott and other political leaders are absolutely correct when they state that there isn't a problem with Islam...

However there is a very tiny extremist and radicalized minority within the Islamic community that is a problem and it is a problem that is not specifically islam, but that these very few extremists are murderous, hate-filled lunatics and psychopaths and use/abuse some of the violent justifications and excuses written in parts of the Koran, a 7th century document, as an excuse to embark on their murderous rampages against what they view as hated infidels in the community...

The challenge of our political leaders is to ensure the huge majority of people in the islamic community who are peace-loving and just want to get on with their lives in peace, understand that the Australian government and police view them as allies against our common enemy of the tiny number of violent, murderous, hate-filled extremist lunatics that nest within their communities, infecting young and gullible people with their hatred and murderous psychopathy...

It is a difficult and delicate process of gaining the trust of the peaceful majority in order that they feel safe and confident enough to expel the violent and murderous extremists from their communities so that our law enforcement and legal processes can take care of removing them from the public where they present a clear and present danger...
