The need for competent accounting, Mr Hanrahan, stands at the intersection of the reality of AGW and the political need to allocate necessary funds in a cost effective manner. People such as yourself may not be even on the AGW road, let alone at this intersection. Some of the slower folk on this forum even persist with the "C" in the acronym, often without knowing what it means. The "C" stands for "catastrophic" but we confront real issues with climate change without needing to look for catastrophes. Everyday climate change linked events are costing people money. Smart action now will save us money. The RET scheme your government wants to abandon is one example. The sensible price on carbon your government has already abandoned is another example of action to save money over the longer term.

Lunatic direct action schemes are best disregarded as the thought bubbles of fools and frauds.
