..("buddy I think the theory is that you own 3 houses but the value of those 3 houses is not accurately reflected in the SP. Let's say house #3 reflects a value in the SP of $0.60 but you know it's worth $1. So you put the house on the market to relise the $1.)"..
billt5,
We are talking oil producing fields here mate. Take them away and see what will happen. We will end up with no income/revenues coming in at all from there. Take the cash coming in from them off, and see what will happen. And will that money come back to us, if it will ever get listed, or will it stay with the Company?? That alone is worth a reply.
Yes we have cash coming in, but the expense of getting it and in trying to achieve the figures in the outputs they predicted, far outweighed the return by a long mile. IMHO, they shoud stop spending money there and let the cash coming in for the oil sales rebuild itself to an acceptable level, before going out all gangbuster again.
What one poster wrote here quite sometime ago about MPO not reading properly into what was involved in those oil fields, and as to why the previous owners sold out, I would have to agree with 100%. Because, why selling something that is making you good and serious money on a daily basis, and for a very small amount.?? That, to me, would be unheard of and simply plain silly.
That poster, whoever he/she was, read the book properly, while our Management didn't and rushed in too quickly in seeing the dollar signs.
And, we also have millions of acres of land in Canada as well in the hope of getting them to produce some gas. Many years have now gone by, and how many wells did we sink to date in there.??
As someone else wrote on these threads, they should concentrate on what we have at home and making a go at it properly. Not galavanting around the World. Because it takes a hell of a lot of money in doing that.
We are not a multy billion dollars company. Let's not forget that. Would be if they could be.!!!! Learn to crawl before you walk, as they say.
I do hold still, and I am very disappointed that this Company's Management has done nothing to increase the value of it's shareholders for many years to date. And if one would care to have a good look at it, he/she would soon realise that we are in fact worse off that what we were a long long time ago.
Let's hope that the same thing about directing someone into selling does not come out again. Because it is wearing a little too thin and it is just an excuse.
Lets' talk about what is good for the company and what is good for all of us. Not just pies in the sky.
Buddy
