In some ways lithium and oil can be compared - they both provide a reasonably portable energy source that is of suitable density for vehicles.
In other ways they can't be compared - lithium is only a storage technology, it does not produce any energy,.
The energy still needs to come from somewhere, at this stage still predominantly burning hydrocarbons like coal, gas and oil. This is changing, but renewable energy sources are only a part of the mix and will probably not be 100% of energy sources for many, many decades.
Plus, hydrocarbons are needed for plastics and fertiliser production.
I hold both GXY and 88E, because I see them as complimentary.
