It should have been done previously...interesting that the democrats self destructed because of their gst stance.

The problem is that it will be too infaltionary in an enviroment where inflation can get away from us if we are not careful.
Some pundits are predicting 10% interest rates in 2 years which would throw us back into a recession.
As effective economic management was the Lib platform for victory I can't see them risking the next one on such a high risk play.

Putting the cost of food up by 10%, particularly the staples such as bread,milk ,meat and fruit & veg will not be viewed very well by the pensioners and other welfare recipients who fail to benefit from tax reductioins.

I think we had the chance and missed it.
