Might I further add that if gold is made a Tier 1 asset for commercial banks with 100% weighting rather than a Tier 3 asset with just a 50% risk weighting as it does today, then it won't just be the commercial banks investing in gold.

For example, expect mainstream superannuation funds to invest in physical gold.

This will be a massive game changer imo which will see gold investment become mainstream and not something that just quirky "gold bugs" are interested in.
