I picked up a Toyota Corolla Hybrid from Hertz at Tullamarine a couple of weeks ago.
The guy that served me was the manager and he offered to upgrade me a larger full EV. I declined and he asked me why. I told him I did not want to have to replan my entire trip around where I could recharge. He said he got the same response from just about all he had offered the same to. The only people that took up the offer were not travelling far.
I did a bit over 1,500 in 9 days and only refueled 3 times, the last being a smallish top up to return the car full.
I stayed in six different places and only one had EV chargers on the premises. There were four at that place only three were working.
EV's a fine for some, just not me and I reckon I'm not an orphan in that regard.
