I agree benson, projects that add value to Telstra would improve the SP.
Telstra should in first instance get to a situation where their profits cover dividend with some profits retained for future growth or buybacks.
They should not be borrowing to pay dividends in future.
I understand that current policy of paying high dividends was partly due to government interference and lately based on forthcoming compensation from NBN.
That now became a reality, so Telstra should become a "normal" business. Concentrate on excellent telco services, look for new opportunities to grow their business and profits and pay proportion of the profits as dividends.
Retained profits should translate to higher SP. Just like BHP. Simple really, is it not?
