One could ask you, then, to query Labor as to why they are happy that Slipper's been stood down - Anna Burke in his place? One rule - motto - for them - another for "us"?
Any CEO or MD of any reputable company who faced 150 very serious charges of alleged fraud would be expected to stand down whilst matters are resolved. If they didn't. there would be shareholder outrage and revolt. The allegations against Thomson are work-related - why is he then morally "exempt" and "special" in your eyes.
On your reckoning, then, what - an alleged phaeodophile, facing prosecution on 150 allegations, could still remain in a teaching position, indefinitely, until matters are eventually resolved in his favor, or not? On the assumption of "innocent until proven guilty?" And attend some school to teach, regarded as more important than his requirement to be present in court?
All arrested persons, regardless of pending charges, should then also be automatically bailed, even if murder is alleged. That person, too, "innocent until proven guilty?". NO - they are put in remand.

Anyway don't worry, if your dearly loved Labor get their way, and survive all this mayhem, YOUR Gillard and Roxon intend legislating OUR freedoms of speech and opinion out of existence; forum such as this, and any others anywhere, plus leading newspapers and Current Affairs commentary, (the effected will be an enormous tidal wave of oppression) who dare criticise them, out of existence - so NONE of us will be here on this forum - which will be ruled "forbidden".
