NSW Coronavirus Update: A man aged in his 20s was one of 6 people who died overnight after contracting COVID-19.

The man came from Canberra and died at St Vincent’s Hospital. He had received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine and had no known underlying health conditions.

NSW recorded 34,994 new cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night.

There were 111,231 COVID-19 tests reported to 8pm last night. There are currently 1,609 COVID-19 cases in hospital, up from 1,491 yesterday - 131 people in intensive care, 38 of whom require ventilation.
