I think he is very astute at this shell game. the way he released that ann at Christmas regarding the 'potential' acquisition hinting at the general field of the acquisition - brilliant! allowed him to see the markets reaction without having to sign the papers - of course there is more to play out with the terms of the deal, etc. i feel like he played his ace card but probably had a few kings and queens tucked away if fintech didn't take as well as it did.
