Thanks, AnnaP for the reference to de Soto. I haven't read it yet. Is it a recent book? Who's the publisher? I find this forum a curious one. There are some genuinely great members whose writings I can't get enough of and then there are those who make me think that "this village is clogged with idiots!" and I crawl back into my corner. Extremist don't worry me if they're also intelligent but that's an oxymoron, isn't it? It's also the medium. I prefer the long, studied, essay than the short, pithy (I just can't be pithy) answers, so I take the lazy option and go and chat to the babies (literally) next door -far more intelligent!
