Couldn't agree more! Especially reinforced by the Brisbane visit. I would have thought a viable chelation method is a quantum shift, just as substantial as when we first figured out how we could use co-valency for bonding. Is that a reasonable comparison? I don't know the history of co-valent bonding, but you will know. Holy grail indeed.
