G'day Hardmano,
I take the view that all these hydrocarbons will find a market, the coal, the oil and the gas! We won't stop mining coal, all the oils overcommitted and gas will make up the shortfall. In reality any percieved need for CO2 reductions not that important in the overall scheme of things.
The literature on global energy consumption confirms a rate of growth that's all but unsustainable and short of some game changing technology the renewables wont impact greatly ... or it will take a few generations for them to scale up.
ESG will find a buyer .. and I wish the rest of life was so certain!
Waiting the market and the politics out is the hardest part. Though we all know how quickly these impasses can break down.
But its Friday .. and those of us working for salary, with young children to run after have more than enough distractions.
You have a good weekend
